For the first time, Hitotsubashi University participated in the International Humanitarian Mapathon, a global, two-part event where participants converted data into compelling visual narratives. The first Crisis Challenge invited participants to map real-world disasters within a week. Submissions were evaluated by a panel from participating universities, including UCLA, the University of Southern California, and Reitaku University. Hitotsubashi students achieved victories in both the Best Narrative and Best Data categories.

Open to all skill levels, this event highlighted the power of data storytelling in humanitarian response while connecting a global community of mappers.
